Preparing for the Next Season
The Ice Cross season may only last a portion of the year, but training continues year-round. Off-season preparation allows athletes to improve strength, endurance, and overall performance.
Strength Development
Athletes use the off-season to focus on strength training. Building powerful leg muscles improves acceleration and stability on the ice.
Conditioning Work
Cardiovascular training such as cycling, running, or interval workouts helps maintain fitness levels even when athletes are not skating regularly.
Skill Practice
Some athletes continue skating on indoor rinks to maintain technique and edge control.
Off-season dedication allows Ice Cross competitors to return stronger and better prepared for the next racing season.
