Ice Cross, the reimagined version of the once-popular Red Bull Crashed Ice, is making its much-anticipated Canadian debut this December. The event will take place on the University of Saskatchewan grounds at the Merlis Belsher on December 22, bringing a new level of extreme sports action to the region.
Founded by Tim Cimmer, the visionary entrepreneur known as the Audacious Cowboy, Ice Cross is an action-packed sport where athletes compete in fast-paced races down an ice-covered track—facing intense twists, jumps, and obstacles along the way. The event has gained international recognition, with competitors from all over the world coming together to showcase their skills.
“This is a big milestone for Ice Cross, and we’re excited to introduce it to fans in Saskatchewan,” said Cimmer, the creator and driving force behind the sport. “Ice Cross has quickly become one of the most exciting sports internationally. We are proud to bring this experience to Saskatoon, so fans can have the chance to see the action up close and in person.
”The event will be the world’s first-ever “arena-style” Ice Cross race, offering fans a unique experience. Doors open at 6 PM, and the social party kicks off at 7 PM with a live concert and DJ. The races will begin at 7:30 PM, running alongside the party. This exciting event is open to all ages—whether you’re here to cheer on the challengers, join the party, or race yourself, there’s something new for you to experience.
Challengers are invited to sign up for the race, with a total of $10,000 in cash and prizes available across all age categories. It’s an opportunity to “get paid to race” and “become a pro” in Ice Cross.
